Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also referred to as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized in order to transport supplies and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which can lift the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.
To avoid loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated with care. Machine should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make certain that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be stacked carefully to be able to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be at the center to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you since the thrust can cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop suddenly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
